Information on SMPT Authentication

The Genie/o2 Internet Mail Server which runs on the BT platform, now requires user authentication to send email.

This is to help reduce abuse of your email service and spam (junk email), BT have introduced authenticated email sending (known technically as 'authenticated SMTP' or 'SMTP server authentication').

If you're having trouble sending email from Outlook Express (or other email software), it may mean you need to adjust your email settings, please refer to our home page for more information.
